Dottie,
There are quite a number of reasons you may be able to send and not receive
mail. Have you tried to Google for "outlook express cannot receive mail"?

I have seen similar issues that you describe when you received multiple
messages. In my case they were related to someone having sent a message
large enough that my ISP wouldn't deliver it. I had (or have to) go in
through the web mail interface and delete the offending message. Another
time it was because my Outlook Express profile had become corrupt. The
quickest way to recover from this is to delete and recreate your profile.
That is assuming your remember your email password! Either of these can
cause Outlook Express to time out and not deliver the full messages, and can
cause duplicates when it tries to download the same message again and again.

Have you tried creating a new folder and moving the duplicate messages into
the new folder and then deleting the folder?

Are you able to provide us with an error message?

Hope this helps!
