You could split and re-encode the files into something more
manageable with something like Audacity, but what you really need is
more horsepower. A faster CPU, hard drive, and lots more RAM. There
is no magic software out there that will compensate for your old
hardware. Any kind of media editing is going to demand the fastest
speeds you can afford. Good luck.
