Paul,

That happened to me too. I do not know for sure what other parameters
they're using to exempt 'some' files from being scanned but it was very
clear on mine why it 'failed' to scan 2 files in my harddrive. The 2 files
below were the ones not 'accessed' by Housecall.

1. I had a zipped file. These are zipped multiple files I take home from
work (sometimes I continue working at home to finish a job.)- Housecall
gave me a "data error reading" report after the scanning.
2. I had a corrupted Corel graphics file that resulted from software's
versions (upwards) incompatibility. I knew all along that this file was
corrupted but was reluctant to delete it, hoping someone could recover it
for me.- Anyway, Housecall gave me a straightforward "corrupted" file
report.

My suggestion to you is... go back and re-scan with Housecall. After the
scanning, print the "Housecall Scan Report". From here, you'll get a very
specific report on File Name/Locations, File Type and HC's message. Based
on this report, you should at least have an idea of the files you're dealing
with whether they're good or not, whether the files are still needed or not,
etc. It's your call to update, delete or clean-up old unneeded files (like
I had) or get the experts to help.

I hope others out there could give a more thorough explanation than I have
here. Good luck Paul.

Emie DelRosario
