Mark,

Make sure you have the latest upgrades to both MS Office and First Aid.
MS keeps shuffling web pages so I can't give you an exact location for
the office service release but you can start with:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.asp

First Aid 97 has a built in version of Oil Can to upgrade itself.
Just click the upgrade button.

I had lot's of problems with them until I did the above.  The
RTFIXMON.EXE still gives me an  __occasional__ lock up when I try
to shut down my PC.
