Jim, that is because of Yahoo Messenger.  You must have that running or you
wouldn't see those.  Click on "login" in the main messenger window then on
"preferences."  On the column on the left click to highlight "alerts" then
on the right side highlight "when I get a mail message" and change the
alerts in that bottom right section then click "apply."  That should take
care of it.  If it happens all the time that means you have your messenger
set to run whenever your computer is, and you can change that in preferences
too if you want, that one is in the general section.

Hi All: Does anyone know of a way of disengaging those
annoying windows that keep popping up notifying you that
"you have 2 new messages" etc." They interfere with typing
and are a real pain. (Yahoo mail, by the way)Any help is
appreciated.
