This is a strange one. I recently assembled a DIY Athlon project and am now
loading and downloading applications. I've noticed that the dial-up
connection window shows more dots than letters that are in my password.
I've tried retyping it and checking the save box. It always returns with
the same number of dots - too many. Tonight I just tried the log in without
retyping the password and it connected. Is there supposed to be one dot for
each letter/number? That's the way it worked on my W95 connections.
