Joan,
I have Windows 98SE, but XP should be similar. In Explorer, find the file
you want to move, Right click on the file name and click "Properties".
You'll see "Read Only" is checked under "Attributes". Uncheck it or check
"Archive" instead and you should be able to edit the file any way you want,
including copying it to a CD.
Selina

will XP Home Version not allow you to file in this manner? If not, can
someone let me know how I should be doing it. Thanks for your help.
