In a past life I installed desktop themes for NT 4.0, but I cannot seem to
recall how to do it.  Any suggestions ? Also URLs to find these would be
very much appreciated.

You can download Desktop Themes , a program by Left Side Software in Australia.
It's a real good manager for desktop themes. I think I got it at www.download.com

As for themes,

You can try Wulfert's Desktop Themes at

www.wulfert.com

They have an expansive repository, and you can find anything to suit your tastes...I think even
The desktop theme manager is there as well..
