Hi Edith,
I don't see how ZoneAlarm could possibly be the cause of what you describe.
The only setting that would come close is if you have the Automatic Lock in
Program Control set to "On" and customized to block all Internet access or
to lock after a designated period of inactivity.
More likely it's the following setting in Outlook Express (OE): In OE, go to
Tools \ Options \ Connection tab and insure the box by "Hang up after
sending and receiving" is not checked. If it is, uncheck it and that should
solve the problem.

Subject: [PCSOFT] dsl Verizon
I have just subsribed to Zone Alarm -- version 4.5.538.001.
I now have a problem. Everytime I connect to Verizon dsl and go to my
Outlook Express, I constantly have to reconnect. If I go on the net, once
again I have to reconnect. Every time I answer an e-mail--reconnect.
What can I do to stop having to reconnect all the time?
Please help me because I am ready to take out Zone Alarm since that is when
the problem started.
Disconnected,
Edith Robinson
