Marvin,

You did not say which versions you have.

If you have OE 5, then the simplest way to do this is to click
TOOLS - OPTIONS - GENERAL  and at the bottom of the dialog
are buttons to MAKE DEFAULT for email and for newsgroups.

You can also do this through MS Internet Explorer.
Open IE and click TOOLS - INTERNET OPTIONS - PROGRAMS
now open the selection list for EMAIL PROGRAM and select OE.
Click OK buttons until you are back out.
