I ASK---
My grandson kept getting on my computer when I was not around(age 2), and
he started putting stuff in the trash bin. So I went and passworded what
I thought would be my desktop, it asked for a name for it, and then a
password. I did so, and it created a new desktop.

My grandson quickly found that if you hit CANCEL on this new password
box, it goes to the Original desktop, so I am just saving my new desktop
from his damage, but how do I go about saving the OLD one from him?

I DID NOT KNOW that if you hit cancel, you would go to the original
desktop, until I saw him do it. Two and he is too smart!!!!!!! He sees
you do something on the computer, and he will later go thru the same
files etc. I have given him an LC III which he cannot hurt and he goes
all thru that messing around.

Now my pc3 I want him to NOT have access to either desktop.

How do I password the original? Dummies 98 does not say anything
regarding it, and I cannot find by google anything. I went thru the cmos
and passworded my bios so he cannot accidently get in there. But again,
the desktop???

If you have not already entered a password, then you can remove this
prompt by doing the following:

Right Click on "Network Neighborhood" and click "Properties".

Look for the section named "Primary Network Logon" and change it to
"Windows Logon" from the list.

Click "OK" and re-start your computer.
