Nancy,

A little more history and a few specs would help, but you might try searching for executable
programs / folders / files on your hard drive that might give a hint to where this program is
hiding. It's likely in your c:\windows\temp folder, but not necessarily.

You might also search for and open a file named " win.ini " and look at the first two lines (load=
& run=). Generally, these two lines should not have anything loading or running, unless you specify
such, so if anything is listed after the = signs, remove it and save the changes. It's always a good
idea to copy this file elsewhere first, just in case.

Also, check your startup folder (start > programs > startup) to see if it's loading at startup.
Deleting a shortcut from there should stop it from running and/or installing, but it won't uninstall
it. If these suggestions don't help, try writing back with as much info as possible regarding the
history of the program (when and where it came from), and include some info on what version of
windows you're running. One question: if you're using a dial-up modem to connect, is your PC
connecting just before this install happens? hth
