I just tried (and finally succeeded in) updating my Logitech cordless desktop drivers and software (2 different models, 2 different computers, 2 different firewalls). I found it necessary to turn off both Windows Firewall and ZoneAlarm Firewall in order for the installation package to find what it needed to complete the installation. Clearly the firewalls (with exceptions for Logitech update) were in the way of the install program getting what it needed. It might be something to investigate...
