You can actually use msconfig in Win2k (as well as 95 and NT). Just ignore
the error messages, but Win2k is like NT so if you really want to control
what starts up, you should go into Settings - Control Panel - Administrative
Tools - Services and either disable or set to Manual any service which you
don't need at start up. Here's a good article on tweaking Win2k services:
http://www.3dspotlight.com/tweaks/win2k_services/index.shtml

There's also a small program called Win2k Startup Control Panel which acts
like msconfig for NT and 2k. You can find it on any freeware site.
