You are being logged off by the screen saver.
(This is one answer..)

Change your screensaver settings to NOT require a password.
Note that in WinXP, older screen savers "may" not work correctly
with the password feature so YMMV depending or the exact one
you try to use...  (Example: You can't start a screen saver manually...)
