    If you have the manual for your motherboard, check to see if
    jumpers need to be moved to allow the board to recognize the
    additional RAM. I had such a board, and even though the manual
    indicated that jumpers needed to be repositioned, it was still a
    trial and error operation to get them positioned to recognize
    the additional SIMMS. The jumpers activated or deactivated
    memory banks. Just a thought . . . HTH

    I would imagine it would. IMHO, these utes should only be run
    when needed, and not take up system resources unnecessarily.
