For windows XP and win2000, its start, search, file or folders, text
containing.
For win98 / me its start, find, file or folders, text containing.

Be sure to specify a starting folder in the 'Look in' box, by using the
'browse' item (last item in the 'Look in' list for win2000) or 'browse'
button (w98) to explore my computer and pick a folder. This is suggested
because the search (on my pc) is extremely slow, taking 3 minutes or more to
look through 1000 files for a particular word or phrase (although my files
are not small).

I have used commercial programs that were very fast by comparison, but now I
only use the free search that comes with windows.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Document Search non-Internet

I have electronic minutes of meetings that go back several years. There
are many documents. Can anyone recommend a way to search for particular
words or phrases besides making them into one document and using Word's
search capability?

Thanks
