When you are in task manager, go to the processes tab and see which
application is using all the cpu time. It may be fastfind in Microsoft
Office or it may be some other program. I think that's the quickest way to
figure it out.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Win 2000 Professional lockup
> This is a new pc with Win 2000 Professional. When typing in Word or
composing Email, the pc will sometimes stall. It will usually return to
normal after about 30 seconds. The pc will also lock up at times when
attempting to close a window or delete/select Email. In these cases if ctrl
alt del is used and task manager is selected, a notation is shown that
states "CPU usage 100%". End task will usually return the pc to desktop,
but not always...sometimes must reboot.
