Subject: Outlook Express 5.0 Files

Hello, I am using Outlook Express 5.0 as my e-mail program and am concerned
with manually backing up the files before reformatting my HD. I have three
identities setup. I am concerned with the .dbx, .idx, and .mbx files. Two
identities use only the .dbx extension for all boxes (inbox, outbox, sent,
etc.). For some reason the third identity uses all three extensions: Thus I
have a inbox.dbx, inbox.idx, and inbox.mbx., etc. Can someone enlighten me
as to which extension means what and why two identities only use one
extension? Are any of these redundant and safe to delete? Which ones should
I archive? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, William
