Thanks for that Larry, I'll print it out and keep it for next time.

As I said yesterday, I stumbled over another solution.  I removed the
'read-only' attribute from the archived wab and it merged into the new wab
without a hitch.

Makes me wonder if changing the attribute property would have done the same
for my client's 200-odd dbx files that I couldn't import to his new setup,
and which we finally had to shift, one by one, via the old, cumbersome
'rename, copy etc etc' method.

Which leads me to ask - I think I've seen a prog somewhere that can change
attributes for bulk files, as in a folder-full of dbx files.  Anyone know
where this can be got?
