Hi Char,

In Windows XP it's called "Check Disk". Open My Computer or Windows
Explorer, right click the "C:" drive and select "Properties". In the
Properties window click on the "Tools" tab. There are three options there
with "Error-checking" listed at the top. Click the "Check Now..." button.
The Check Disk window will appear. Check the two options and click the
"Start" button. An information window will appear telling you it can't check
it now because it needs exclusive use of some Windows files and it can only
be done on a restart of Windows. Then it asks if you want to do it the next
time you restart the computer. Click "Yes".

In the Windows Task Manager, the Applications tab shows those programs and
applications that you have open and are working with. For example, at the
moment mine shows Outlook Express and this draft e-mail. All other programs
and processes will appear on the "processes" tab.

My name is Char Billings.
Hello. Can you tell me how to run thorough scan disk on Windows XP? Also,
when I hit control - alt - delete to see all of the programs running,
only one
or two are shown, when I know there are many more programs running. Why is
that? I appreciate your help.
