In Word running under Office 97, there is a functionality that continues a
numbered list if you start a line with a number/period/space or number/tab
combination . After the next carriage return, the line starts with the next
number in sequence automatically.

Is there a software switch someplace that can shut this down so that it
won't start? Can't find anything in the Help screens or third party manuals.
