Windows 2000 and XP are versions Windows NT. You are correct in you
understanding that Windows NT isolates access to hardware by programs. As
such, some DOS programs will not work properly if they try to bypass normal
system calls (access to hardware only through the OS).

Are there any issues with puttin DOS programs on Windows 2000 or on XP ma=
chines?
I had heard that some types of DOS Programs would not run on these machin=
es if the program attempted to access hardware.
