In general, F1 selects any highlited Help objects. F2 is Rename.  F5 is
Refresh (useful in your browser--forces the browser to re-load any webpage
rather than load it from the cache.)

F8 is usually to select boot options on rebooting. Don't tamper with this
one! F9 or F11 is often Fullscreen.

The other F keys may be assigned functions by various programs, or there
are numerous little freeware utility programs which will allow you to set
whatever global functions for these keys as you wish.  You can set them
either as shortcuts to open programs or webpages, or to carry out certain
actions within programs.

Otherwise, the remainder generally have no global function until you assign
one to them. They can be quite useful, provided your memory is good enough
to remember 12 different functions!

I have the utmost difficulty trying to remember more than 3!
