Just a point - you say this prog is using 99% of your CPU.  I think you'll find that the 99% refers to 'System Idle'.  It's a clumsy way of saying that a certain app is using 1%.

  The chkfat.exe is a process that runs on my computer and consumes quite a bit of memory,also uses up to 99% of my CPU as well as accessing the internet. The result is a big slow down of my system.
