Andre,
Here are two methods to stop the Windows password prompt from appearing.
Some systems are "finicky", if one doesn't work, try the other.
1. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel and open the Passwords icon. Then
click the Change Passwords tab and click the Change Windows Password button.
Make sure all three fields are completely blank and click the OK button to
save changes.
2. Open the Network Control Panel and select Windows Logon as your Primary
Network Logon. Restart, and when windows puts up the password prompt, create
a brand new user and enter a blank password. Click OK.

Subject: How can I deactivate windows 98 password windows at boot up ???
Hi,
When I open the computer, I get a window inviting me to enter a password. I
press escape, and I can procede. When I installed windows 98se, I didn't
enter any password; I just clicked on O.K but it didn't work. I had to press
escape to procede. The first time, when you click O.K., the password window
shouldn't appear anymore, but this time it didn't work.
What can I do?
Thank you!
