Jim,
If this is on a Windows 95 computer, you need to look in
the control panel. Double click on the "Internet" icon, go
to the connection tab, and check off the box that says
"Connect to the internet as needed"
The same setting is located somewhere in Windows 98, but I
can't remember how to find it. Someone else may be able to
give you directions for that.
