Paul,

I would recommend that your friend go to Karen's Power Tools and get the
Registry Ripper Program.

When I ran this program on my computer with the Search word "Norton" I
received 324 registry entries.
When I ran the word "Symantec" I received 1320 registry entries.

Don't use the quotation marks.

Back up the Registry before running the program just in case there is a
problem after removing the Norton and Symantec entries.

Hope this helps, George

I would appreciate
it if any of you with much experience purging Norton/Symantec
products from Win95/98/ME could provide me with the necessary
keys to be deleted, in case my friend does have the installation
media. I feel fairly certain that, if a clean installation could be
performed,
the update that she has downloaded will "do what it is supposed to."
