The reason one virus scanner would find a virus and another wouldn't is
that one that detects, has the virus's signature in its database for
scanning.  That is the major reason for updating your AV virus database
often (I update mine every night).  When a new virus is released, the AV
program providers have to devise the method they are going to use to detect
the virus and add it to a new virus database for downloading.  The on-line
scanners often will find viruses earlier since they are up to date
immediately when a new database is released.
