Basically I need to know how to copy a HD image from 4 computers onto one external HD.

I know I can drop / drag files from each computer to a designated folder on the ext HD but that is time consuming and leads to errors. I think a Windows backup image copies everything, including the OS, in one action. It is automatic and no files or programs are missed.

Running Win 7 on all computers. This one has two internal 1TB HD's. Used Win image backup software to second HD. Also have a 1 TB external USB HD. I want to use the ext HD to backup images from this computer, 2 other desktops and a laptop.

If I partition the ext HD, I think I can assign a partition to each computer and use Win backup to copy an image from each computer. What about this computer. Given that I have already designated a second internal HD for backup, can I assign a partition on the ext HD and use Win backup to copy an image to it?

Thanks
