Hello everyone here,
I tried to run an evaluation copy (Trial version) of KIS to a computer here
in our school and it worked perfectly. I wanted to have a comparison of it
running on a different machine but still with the trial version and I
experienced some problems activating it. So my suspect is with the
connection configurations and the only difference with the two is that, one
is directly connected to the hardware router of our admin building, while
the other is connected via RRAS of our own department.
To give you a better view, hardware router has dhcp enabled with ip
addressing of 10.xxx.xxx.xxx, our department server is connected to that
segment and is configured with RRAS and (as 2nd level) to share the internet
to our department. I could activate the trial version of KIS when I connect
the computer in 10.xxx.xxx.xxx segment, but when the PC is connected under
the 2nd level (department server), it could not activate the trial version.
FYI, connection via 10.xxx.xxx.xxx node segment or through 2nd level server
could access the google.com,yahoomail.com,etc.
I understand that I have to email Kaspersky, but I would like to ask if
anyone has experienced this? I'd like to ask what settings did you
tinker.... Thanks!!!!
Frederick
