Yes, lots of them.
Aladdin Expander is free, available at http://www.aladdinsys.com/. It's
arguably the easiest of the lot to use---you just drag n drop the zipped
file onto a little window and it automatically unzips. Real neato. But
does not zip, you can only unzip. And it will expand many other formats
that Winzip won't handle. Much quicker than Winzip, but not as versatile.
Cleverzip (free for unzipping) not only unzips but will show you the
contents of any zip file without having to first unzip it. And you can
read any text readme file contained therein. I'm not sure where you can
get it. Try CNet or ZDNet, Tucows or any of the usual download sites.
