I am running Windows XP Pro and I'd like to assign sounds to some program events not listed in the Control Panel> Sounds and Audio Devices. I could do this in Win98 by editing the Registry under Current ser>AppEvents>Apps>Schemes.

I've done this with XP and, while the programs show up in the Sounds list and I can assign sounds to them, they do not play. The regular sounds (Question, Exit Windows, etc.) play fine.

I know there are various programs that will do this for you but none of them seem to work in XP.

How or where do I make this happen?

Thanks,
Gail
