For what it's worth, our corporate site uses McAfee. We got lax and only
updated the signature files, instead of product upgrades as our licenses
permits. ( Don't like messing with NT servers on networks)
Anyway, several users got infected with some of the recent Office type
viruses and saved those infected files on the server. McAfee remained quiet
as a mouse. McAfee did not detect the infected files until we updated the
engine.

I think if you research it, any version number can be upgraded. e.g. you have
v4.01 you can upgrade to 4.04, but not to V5.XX.
