You need the open source program VLC player which plays just about any
type of media file you will ever encounter right out of the box. It's
free, and available here -

That's a direct link to the download page for the Windows version, as my
Thunderbird plugin shows me that you are using Windows Live Mail, so you
must be using Windows. 8-)
