If you switched to NTSF from FAT 32(?), you upgraded to Win 2K or XP, or you already had one of the latter and just used 3rd party software to make the switch to NTSF? We need to know the operating system (OS), and how you got to where you are now by upgrading the OS or by simply changing from FAT 32 to NTSF with 3rd party software. You could have done a clean install of XP or 2K and formatted NTSF at that time. Where, when, and how would be helpful.
