There is a little program called Audio Companion available from
http://www.ronimusic.com that will allow you to record tapes as .wav files
to the hard drive. (There are probably many more little programs that do
the same, but this one is easy to run.) I had an annoying phone call on a
microcassette that I wanted to save so I rerecorded it from the
microcassette to the hard drive with Audio Companion and converted it to
mp3 with another program. Still have it.
The program has a limit of 10 minutes recording time unless you buy it. It
costs, I believe, $15.00.
