  You can move files between the Mandrake box and your other machines
using FTP (although this will be easiest if you know its IP address,
and if you're using DHCP on your LAN then that may change from time
to time).

  Beyond that, if you want a 'nix box to participate in Windows
networking, and support file and printer sharing, then the best way
to do it is to install and configure the "Samba" package, which
implements the NetBIOS and SMB (hence the name) protocols on 'nix.
  Most Linux distributions include a version of Samba, or you can
download the latest from the same places as other Linux utilities.
