Lewis,
Sometimes when Norton or other programs are unable to affect a program
running in windows it's because Windows is interacting with that program
behind the scenes.
If you can restart in Safe Mode you should be able to rerun Norton and it
should be able to more successfuly quarantine the viruses. If not, you
should contact their
support center and send them your particulars, as they should be able to
remove what they 'find' from your system.
