Hello Harvey,

This is simple and I've done it quite a few times. You must get a
cable with one end fitting into Line-Out of your sound card and
another end like Line-In of your audio equipment. I suggest you get a
quality cable and not the cheapest one ($2) found in the radio store,
it will improve the sound somewhat and will last longer.

Before recording, calibrate. Set the main volume on the card to 0 and
increase it as to reach the -3 /\/ 0 db value on your equalizer or
volume meter of the audio recorder on the loudest sounds in the record
- I found it to be the optimal setting for volume/quality. Of course
you are free to try any other setting... For recording some MP3s that
I made at different times, had to recalibrate before doing nearly
every song since the volumes were noticeably different.

When recording, you should mute all of the unused channels, especially
microphone [it doesn't matter whether you have one; the noise goes
through] and the line-in.

Good luck!
