I'm not quite sure what your exact configuration is, is the zip drive
external? SCSI termination can sometimes be tricky, even if what you have is
an appropriate combination. Try running just the scanner on the SCSI card to
make sure that it is terminated properly. If the zip drive works properly,
then the card should like the termination. It should then work with the
scanner. If it does, but refuses to work, you might want to try a different
means of termination. I have a SCSI cd-r drive that the SCSI card would not
recognize if I used the internal termination, even though the card I was
using came with the drive. I had to take the external terminator from my jaz
drive to get it to work. I would recommend trying both devices separately,
and then add on the other device. If that doesn't work, maybe a new cable
and/or terminator.

Subject: SCSI Scanner

computer. (Yes it is SCSI, not parallel).

I have a SCSI 250 Zip drive with a PCI SCSI card. I tried connecting the
scanner from the output socket on the Zip but it did not work. I then tried
to connecting it in the middle of the chain, but the scanner was still not
recognized by the computer nor the Scanner Install program software. The
terminator was set each time, the end unit on and the middle unit off. The
scanner's cable will not connect direct to the Zip's SCSI card so I was not
able to try this. This has been my total experence with SCSI, but I feel at

Or is there one that will work with my Scanner? I do not understand the
difference in the SCSI cards that I see advertised. I do not know which type
I need, etc.
