Since you have not given any specifics on which Dell you have, I am
copy/pasting 'entering setup' instructions for a number of Latitudes @ the
Dell site:

--Latitude C, CP, and CS Series Systems

Restart your computer.
At the first text on the screen, or the Dell logo, press the <F2> key every
three seconds until the message Entering Setup appears.

Press the <Esc> key to save changes.

--Latitude L Series Systems

Restart your computer.
At the first text on the screen, or the Dell logo, press the <F2> key every
three seconds until the message Entering Setup appears.
When the System Setup screen appears, press the <F9> key.

Press the <F10> key to save changes and exit.

--Legacy Latitude Systems (XPI, XPI CD Series)

Restart your computer.

At the first text on the screen, or the Dell logo, press the <Fn> + <F1>
keys simultaneously every three seconds until the message Entering Setup
appears.

Press the <Esc> key to save changes.

I have win 98 "for pc's without windows" that came with my Dell pc. I'll
need to have explicit instructions to change the BIOS. Never been there
before. Thank you for your prompt reply to my question.
Peace,
Bill Fuellhart
