I tried changing the jumper setting.  For the master end of the UDMA cable (black) to the hard drive.  Jumper set to MASTER position.  Still a very slow auto deTection.  The AMI BIOS has to be set to a sub-routine that just checks for IDE devices.  Still takes a long, long time to detect it.  Anything further that I could do?
