Thanks for explaining memory speeds. Without knowing if a given stick of memory is multi speed or not, the safest think for me to do is just buy the PC2100. There is alot of it out there. Unfortunately it is mostly ECC. I think ECC is error checking used mostly in servers. Because it takes time to check for errors, ECC memory is slower than non ECC. Is it going to be noticeable slower? Would prefer the non ECC but they are hard to find used. Can buy new on Tiger Direct or Newegg but too expensive for these older computers. I only use them for music in my workshop and as a DVR for the TV.
