hi,

look at www.desknote.biz for desktop replacements. They are laptops,
without internal batteries, that use desktop componets for upgading.

4 different versions are available, Via gigapro chip, s370 intel chips, amd
XP chips and P4 socket N (478 pin).  They can come with DVD and DVD/combo
drives, 14 or 15" screens.
the higher end include usb 2.0 and firewaire and s-video out.

These save weight and heat by not having an internal battery.  97% of the
people who buy laptops use it plugged into AC 95% of the time anyway.
External barreies are available and act like mini UPS's for them.
