I don't have any experience with tape drives, but given Linux's ties to the
server trade, I'd expect that IDE tape drives shouldn't be that much of a
problem. Parallel port types... hmm. Try the website for your distribution
(redhat, mandrake, suse, whatever), and poke around for the hardware
compatibility list. I just ran a search for "HP Colorado compatibility" on
the RedHat site and got over 2500 hits. HTH.
