Does the BIOS recognize the CDRW drive during POST? It sounds like it sees your
hard disk, the CDRW should be seen as well. If not, then make sure the CMOS
parameters are setup to look for a drive on IDE1, it should be set to auto (just
make sure all 4 are set to auto). If this is OK, but POST still does not see the
drive, then the cabling is probably suspect.
