I have an older pentium mmx computer where this has happened several
times. The hard drive light all of a sudden comes on solid, I can't do
anything except hit the reset button on the front panel. Then the system
reboots, however it does not see the hard drive and stops booting. Now if
i shut down the computer(power off) and reboot it starts up fine. This
does not happen often and I would like to know what possibly is going bad
or at least get any ideas as to where to look for this problem?

thanks; John zyla
