You can go to the Gateway site (Downloads section) and in the search box
type:

 GWScan

This is a utility that gateway uses similar to the HD utilities. Read
the instructions on how to make a boot disk to run it.
This utility will allow you to write 0's and 1's to the drive which will
wipe out all info and partions. When it is done it will be like working
with a bare drive. You can repeat the process for a more secure wipe.

made the hard drive and get their utility for writing
the ENTIRE drive with ZEROS.
After you know the manufacturer someone on the list may be
able to tell you where to find that utility, (both the WEB site and
which part of the software suite.)
