I am troubleshooting a Win 98 computer, 128 RAM.  After Start > run > and typing in "msconfig"  the screen appears and immediately disappears. What would cause this?  Is there another way to get to msconfig.
I have gone to MS KB but got nothing for msconfig.

I did scandisk - no problems.  Dfrag kept stopping at 10%.  I couldn't get into safe mode to do defrag.  Also the wallpaper colors (photo) are splotchy looking.  I tried to use Housecall (viruschecker) and it stopped downloading twice. Once at 26% and then at 95%.
